My name is Gerhard Gschossmann. I am no professional musician, but on this homepage I would like to show some of my music: my own music, that means music I composed, my transcriptions and arrangements for solo-guitar and music for your event or your celebration.
I have been playing guitar since the age of 7, had classical guitar lessons for 5 years and at the age of about 13 was "confronted" with the Beatles. They blew me away and influenced me essentially for my future musical life. After that, I tried to play everything from pop and rock music on my classical guitar and soon on my Fender Strat. By chance at the age of 14, I started teaching guitar lessons.
I got in contact with jazz music at the age of 19 and with the song "Girl from Ipanema" I discovered the world of jazz chords. Taking jazz guitar lessons for 2 years, I tried to intensify that. Right from the start I always tried to play the new learned pieces in a kind of solo-voicings. So my first jazz transcriptions developed at the age of 19/20.
Since then, I have been playing music in different formations: solo instrumental, in different bands, in vocal-trios, etc. Today besides my solo-performances or my solo-guitar-work I play
